Genuinely honored to land a shot on the cover of Capital City Weekly's Photography issue.
This photo was made in early summer, after Sophie brought home the very first king of the year.
When she pulled it out of a plastic bag in the middle of the living room, dripping slime, I instantly went to get the camera, hardwood floor be damned.
We used our fancy portrait studio -- the front yard. Special thanks to the pink azalea my mom planted in the background, twenty years ago.
Though one creature notably didn't survive the making of this image, you can bet we ate it after.

"Then we all just have to register as Muslims," Will says. He's a gay, white, Jewish boy from Knoxville, Tennessee. "We all have to do it. I'm ready. Are you kidding? I can't wait."

"Did you know wolverines are actually just weasels?"
"No. I thought beavers were the biggest weasels?"
"No. Beavers are the biggest rodents."
"Oh."
"Should we make claws?"
