I guess it wasn't enough for James Hart to win the Gold Medal Basketball championship last week -- he also had to win Central Council Tlingit & Haida President's Award for being an Emerging Leader this week. He had his regalia with him this week, so we commemorated.

So lucky to rub elbows with this formidable group of Language Warriors from across Alaska, representing Inupiaq, Tlingit, Sm’algyax, and Haida. (And for the record, our friend repping the Yup'ik language caught up with us later in the night in time to have a beer and really crush Purple Rain on the dance floor.)
